Stage 4 Restrictions in place - Operations Impact

In accordance with directions from the Premier of Victoria, Dan Andrews, the greater Melbourne area was placed under Stage 4 Restrictions effective 2nd August 2020. Further to this, businesses located within the area covered by Stage 4 restrictions must operate according to guidelines provided by the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services - these restrictions come into effect at 11:59PM on Wednesday 5th August 2020 and at time of writing will extend for 6 weeks through to 13th September 2020. As a result, SAAS Automotive will be operating with a 2/3 capacity workforce and under the relevant Covid Safe operational guides.

We remain committed to the support of and supply to all of our valued customers, however we must all be aware that all areas of the supply chain will be similarly impacted. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Freight and logistics potentially extending delivery times.
  • Reduced sales staff
  • Reduced warehouse staff
  • Possible stock shortages

Please be patient with us as we endeavour to keep your businesses moving, your orders fulfilled, and most importantly, remember to exercise caution and adhere to all appropriate social distancing guidelines.

International Postal Services Impacted

Please be aware that several countries have their freight and shipping services under restriction due to the pandemic. In some cases, we can not ship to these countries until these restrictions are lifted. As we use the Australia Post network for any International orders, please consult the following Postal Service Updates to see if your country is currently impacted.

Changes to how you’ll receive your SAAS Automotive orders

There have now been some changes as to how you may receive your SAAS Automotive orders depending on the freight carrier used. Some carriers have changed the way they deliver consignments to minimise the risk of catching and spreading COVID-19. This includes no longer requiring a Signature on Delivery.

Please note that there have been some changes to the way couriers are handling deliveries that may have an impact on your receipt of goods:

  • Australia Post no longer requires a Signature on Delivery for a parcel delivery or collection. Whether at a Post Office or residence, an Australia Post staff member will ask for and record the customer’s name and sign on their behalf - this will pass as an accepted POD (Proof of Delivery)
  • Other Postage Carriers (i.e. Sendle and Couriers Please) are temporarily moving away from a written Signature on Delivery and automatically granting Authority to Leave

Here at SAAS Automotive, we're thankful for your ongoing support and patronage.

Whilst we are blessed to not currently have any first hand exposure to the novel coronavirus, there has undoubtably been an impact to supply chains both globally and locally. Rightly so, defensive measures are being deployed and these are beginning to stretch stock holdings and delivery times. In some cases we have unfortunately incurred stock outs but we are working hard to ensure these are minimised.

We are also mindful of both our staff and customer's health and safety and, in conjunction with our major freight partners, have implemented a number of precautions around packaging and handling. We operate a health-first workplace and all of our goods and packaging are handled by operators using protective gear.

For those of you who have placed orders we will of course continue to provide tracking information with your orders. An email advice will be sent to you once your consignment has been dispatched advising you of your carrier and enabling you to track your order's progress. For any updates on delays or changing situation as far as our common carriers are concerned, please use the following links to obtain their latest information.
